The UHF RFID reading systems, with frequencies between 860 to 960 MHz, can reach more than 12 metres with a very fast data transmission. At present, the majority of RFID projects use UHF technology, so they are easier and cheaper to manufacture compared to LF and HF.
Despite their fast transmission, they are very sensitive to interference. However, at Dipole, we have found a way to design RFID tags and RFID hardware that give high performance in more complex environments.
The UHF frequency is regulated by a global standard called EPC global Gen2 (ISO 1800-63) UHF standard.
