LAMA Med: intelligent hospital traceability with RFID technology
LAMA Med is a software platform designed specifically for the hospital environment, with the goal of implementing an automatic management and control system for fungible materials, prosthetics, and assets through radiofrequency identification. Its deployment allows knowing the state and exact location of each material at all times, from its entry into the hospital to its consumption in a medical or surgical procedure.
The heart of the system is the Dipole Middleware, a central connector that integrates RFID readings with the ERP, the patient management system (HIS), and other hospital logistics platforms. Each time a material is used, the system automatically generates a movement that is attributed to the corresponding patient or procedure, eliminating the need for manual inventories and reducing the administrative burden on healthcare and logistics personnel.
LAMA Med offers advanced consignment material management, allowing real-time knowledge of the available stock of products owned by the supplier and automating their billing at the time of consumption. The solution deploys fixed readers and volumetric antennas in operating rooms, warehouses, and transit areas, ensuring complete coverage without interfering with the flow of assistive work or the sterility of critical spaces.
The system includes a Control Panel for real-time monitoring of reader and antenna status, a contingency plan that ensures operational continuity in the event of network failures or server errors, and customized logic by area (operating rooms, common disposal areas, transit areas) to adapt to the specific operational procedures of each center. Integration is done through Web Services with JWT authentication, ensuring secure communications in accordance with hospital security standards.
The result: greater security for the patient, standardization of materials by type of intervention, reduction of clinical and administrative errors, and a more agile and precise hospital logistics management.
